Marian Spadone

July 29, 2009

I’m Marian Spadone; an artist, writer, teacher, ceremonial priestess and social activist.  I make beautiful, biodegradable burial and cremation shrouds.  (What’s a shroud?  Think of it as a ceremonial wrapping for the body of someone we love who had died).

My mission is to change the way our culture faces death.

My hope is that your experience in these two rooms sparks new thinking and curiosity. .. and brings a  sense of lightness to the ways you think about Death.  It’s a subject that our culture doesn’t give us much help with!

Whether collaborating to create a personalized burial shroud or attending one of my workshops and classes, people tell me that they come away with a sense of “permission” to celebrate a person’s life and honor their death in ways that are creative, sacred, satisfying and sometimes even fun.  My company is called A Fine Farewell.
